Kelly
What are your impressions of the name Kelly (female)? What's the modern day equivalent of Kelly?

I like the idea of a modern day equivalent to dated names. Maybe something like Kelty?
Kelly is nice and pretty but a bit catty, and tends to happy mediocrity. Either popular girl, or bad girl whose parents don't realize.
This describes the Kellys I've known anyway! Most of them in high school, obviously!
I like the name pretty well.
The name that comes to mind as a modern day equivalent is Hailey.
Today's Kelly who is a young adult, could be Taylor.
Today's Kelly who is a baby, could be Harper or Riley.

It's okay but really kind of blah. There just isn't anything special about it. It probably stood out when it was first getting to be popular because it was a surname type name and sounded different from other names, sounded different than other names that were popular, but the novelty wore off fast even though the name was popular for a good while.
Modern equivalent? Madison? Or Kaylee? I mean, Madison is in the same style, but Kaylee has a similar sound and was quite a novelty when it first started being used.
