Kasper, Casper, Caspian
What do you think of Kasper/Casper and Caspian? Do you think Cass/Kass is avoidable as a nickname?

I love Casper and Caspian. Caspian is probably in our top 3 names, Casper in our top 10 :)I love the nickname Cass, but I don't think it would be an automatic thing.

They're both in my top 10, too.

Thank you for all of your feedback. I go back and forth, but my current favourite is definitely Kasper. It just looks so handsome and masculine, and I'm in love with that spelling. Kaspar, Casper, Caspar and Caspian are all wonderful too, though. I do also adore Jasper.

I prefer Kasper than Casper. Jasper is pretty, too. I love names which end with -ian for boys, but don't know why I am not into Caspian. Probably because I dislike the pi sound. I think Kasper / Casper & Caspian definitely will be called Cass by some people personally.
Please vote on my lists, thanks!

I'm glad you prefer Kasper, too. I know that the majority go for Casper, but Kasper is perfect to me.

I like Casper, but prefer the Caspar spelling. My sister is in love with the Kasper spelling though. Overall, I do like it any way. DH adores Caspian, and I think it is usable. I have heard it is becoming popular anyway.
Cass/Kass is avoidable... if you either have something else in mind as a nickname or you make it clear you don't want a nickname after the kid is born. Some alternatives to Cass / Kass:
Cash / Kash
Cap
Case

I love Caspar. If I were to have two boys today theyd be named Mars and Caspar. I'm not sure about the inevitability of Cass. But the nn Cass is one of the reasons I love Caspar in the first place. Caspian is nice too, as is Cassius

My fiance is Caspar. When he was younger, he got teased a bit about being a "friendly ghost", but he really loves his name now. People constantly misspell it as Casper, even his family. It is often misspelled on important documents that he then has to have reprinted. Although there are some downsides, he has never had to deal with the Cass nickname. Since it's a 2-syllable name, it has always been short enough to avoid that.

I knew a Caspar (my favourite spelling) when I was a little girl. He'd be well over 100 by now... and I know a teenaged Kasper who is half Swiss.Neither one ever called by anything but their own name. There are just some people who insist on shortening every name, even if you don't want them to. You just have to ignore those...

Caspian's been my favourite name for years, so I absolutely love him! Fun, energetic, adventuruous, and so handsome. I like Casper too, it's a sweet name, but I haven't thought about it much with Caspian on my list. I've actually been thinking about Cas recently. I don't hate it, but it isn't my favourite (I prefer the names in full or Cap). I used to only be able to imagine Caspian being Cas to his school friends as a teen. I'm starting to warm to it, but I'm not sure if it is avoidable altogether. Maybe if you insist on using the full name when he's younger, but it could still emerge when he's older or he could love it himself.

Hi !!!I dislike Caspian as a name.I strongly dislike NNs like Cass/Kass.I like Kasper and Casper and also Kacper, Kaspar and Jasper.
So I generally like this name in every variant..but not the Italian ones!I rate all the Casper variant I wrote as 8/10.
