Not a fan, but not sure why. I do like Leila, although prefer Layla as a spelling, but Leilani doesn't appeal. I feel like it's too much, and then I remember that I love names like Cassiopeia and Cordelia, so I guess it can't be that.

I love the name Leilani! It's so beautiful and I've liked it since I was a child.

I've only ever seen it on Islander and Hispanic girls. Oh, and white women who think its cool to change their name to something they view as "hippie" or "crunchy." So, as a white woman its a hard no for me.If I were from another culture I might think its too mainstream and westernized and look for something more obscure or even just less popularized from my heritage.

Baby will not be white but I had no idea that this mattered to people

It doesn't really matter, but for a lot of people it just looks "off." Doesn't mean its wrong or right.

Leilani is gorgeous! It's one of those beautiful, exotic sounding names.
I picture it only on a Hawaiian (obvious enough) or island pacific (?) Type girl who has natural beauty and a down-to-earth personality.

I like it. Nice sound and meaning. It's pretty and feminine without being over the top. Leila and Lani are cute nicknames. It's a name that I can see on a girl/women from any background, but at the same time it's not at all "generic" in the sense of being common or bland. It's on the rise in popularity.

Very pretty surfer girl.

It's cute and has a nice meaning but it feels like THE stereotypical Hawaiian name. In TV shows, movies etc. the Hawaiian girl is always Leilani, if there is a girl from Hawaii in it.I prefer less known Hawaiian names such as just Lani which is really cute, Kailani, Hokulani, Alani etc.
