Because with that spelling alone, the name seems very modern. While I accept that Myles is a perfectly acceptable spelling, it's just a case of the 'Y' complex that makes it look even more trendy and 'kree8yf.' (Seriously, I wish I could count myself in the line of thinking that Miles is a "stuffy" name for an old man, because to me, it's so seriously modern, and I can only imagine a 15-or-16-year-old boy with the name-- certainly not a distinguished old gentleman! Granted, I still adore the name, but I always have reservations for using it in the future, just for that particular element of modernity I feel it has.)
