Claude (f)
I was watching a television show (Reign) and there's a character that goes by this name, Princess Claude. I never realized it could be a girls name until I looked it up. I rather like it, perhaps as a short form for Claudia? WDYT?

It probably wouldn't work on a girl unless you live in a French-speaking area. Most non-francophones would assume it to be a male name.
I've always thought this name and at least certain variations to be androgynous.

I love it on a boy and like it on a girl. On a boy, the name evokes a bookish, reserved intellectual who, to the surprise of those who know him, can be quite dashing. On a girl, the name evokes a self-possessed artist -- perhaps a poet -- who answers to no one other than herself.
I knew that Claude could be used for girls, but much prefer it for boys. I adore Claudia, Claudine and Claudette, nn Claudie or even Claude. With such stunning feminine versions, I don't fully understand using Claude for a girl, but there are worse examples out there, of male names for females. Claude for a boy is gorgeous.
Couldn't say it better. Completely agree.

It's definitely unisex in France (pronounced more like 'Clode')but would seem a bit odd in an English speaking country
100% male to me.
I'd maybe use it as a nickname for Claudia, but not as a given name.
I'm gunning to use Claude as a MN for future son.
