Sorry, but I think of playing Yahtzee. It's an interesting name, but it sounds kind of...prickly. I wonder if it could be derived from a Romani (Gypsy) language? Here in Sweden there is a series of much-loved children's books (based on true stories) about a Romani girl called Katitzi, although her Swedish name is Katarina. There was a girl in my old school called Yafreisi, I think she was from Brazil.

For a non Hispanic person it seems ridiculous. Even on a Hispanic person I find the sound silly. Reminds me of Betsy Wetsy.

It's been on my considering list for ages (along with Yaritza). I just can't decide if I really like the sound all that much. But it definitely has some appeal in a cool and feisty way.

Suuuuuuuuper trashy. It's like the South American (especially Mexican) equivalent of Nevaeh.

Really? That sucks. I've only met one girl named it and I grew up in a densely Hispanic area, butttttt... not many Mexicans, mostly islanders, so maybe it's different! Hmmm... do you think Genesis is "trashy"? And if so do you Genesis is more/less/on par with the trashiness of Yaretzi?Just curious. Tbh I like a lot of names that are considered trashy... even the worst of them all: Bambi.

Yep, Genesis is trashy too. It's hard to say if it's more or less trashy than Yaretzi. It depends on how you view random religious words vs. invented names.

I love the sound of it! I wish its meaning/source were a bit more clear. I'd never use it myself because it would be appropriative, but I'd love to know a Yaretzi.

Same! I'm normally a sucker for name meanings so it's odd that I like Yaretzi so much given it's vague background. And also I am not Hispanic at all so I wouldn't feel comfortable giving it as a name (unless my magical hypothetical SO was Hispanic anyway) but it's so cuteeee.

It is cute! And I love Y names, wish there were more. There's so few! Also, the -tzi sound is fun to say.
