My mother's name is Polly and as a joke, one of her relatives would call her "Pollyanna"
Up into recently, one of her sister-in-laws actually thought that was her actual name. Buhahaha!
If I wanted to, I could use this name for honoring, not just because of my mom but also because of my maternal grandmother named Anna. But I don't think I will. Pollyanna just sounds dated and cartoonish. A name best left in that 50's movie. Also, despite the name belonging to my mom, I much prefer other names over 'Polly' And no, not because of the "Polly pocket, Polly the parrot, Polly wanna cracker" associations. My mom received all of those, mainly from her 3 daughters. (:
