Tbh I never even heard about Pollyanna having negative associations until I was like... 20. I've never heard anyone use it as a noun for a naive person but idk maybe I just grew up in an area where it wasn't common.
And I haven't read the book and I doubt most children who would tease would have read it either. I think Pollyanna is cutesy and immature. I kind of appreciate how simplistic and hmm down-to-earth it sounds, like Dorothy May or Mary Jane haha. NMS but I appreciate it.ॐ मणिपद्मे हूं
