Rufus
WDYTO Rufus? It seems to me a name that almost nobody would like, but you never know!

It sounds like a dog's name. It would be good for a dog with reddish fur, considering the meaning of the name.
Love it
Don't mind the doofus thing, it can be used in quite an affectionate way here, so it's not necessarily a bad thing.
Definitely on our list for a boy

It's got this hipster-chic vibe to me. Like Otis. I'm surprised it's not in the top 1000 right now tbh. I wonder if it's rising.
(I checked, it's not, it's pretty steadily in the 20-40 births per year range for the past 10+ years. I'm actually really surprised).

I've never understood this name.
It rhymes with 'doofus' and that was a name used around my house regularly.
To me, it has the same issues as calling your daughter Dorcas.

It's geeky. And I love it.
I would like it if it didn't rhyme with doofus.
I love Rufus! One of my friends named her first son this - he was born with red hair - and I went to school with a couple of Rufuses as well. Very handsome!
It's rather cute, but for me it's a dog or cat name.
I don't like it, but it must be liked by some people as it's becoming more popular here (currently ranked #250).
I've only ever met one, an Afrikaans-speaking academic. And I don't mind it at all, but I'd never use it myself.
It does sound rather canine.

I like it in theory, but I also struggle to shake the "dog's name" reputation it has (in my area, anyway)
I hate it! Reminds me of the naked mole rat from Kim Possible.
I love it! It's roguishly charming.
I think the meaning is really fun, especially seeing it pop up in history on redheads, but I think it's pretty silly sounding.
It also reminds me of James Franco in the movie Never Been Kissed because he keeps trying to use "rufus" as a cool new word, meaning like cool or awesome, and it does not catch on.

This ages me, but it reminds me of "doofus" which I know isn't nice... but... childhood
