Angel
What do you think of Angel for a girl?It always gave me a tacky vibe but I met the cutest little Angel and now I am starting to appreciate it more. I do think it has a beautiful sound. What do you think?

Still tackyAnd I don't like the sound of it, either. I think the Spanish pronunciation is much nicer, but that of course is masculine.

It's a bit cheesy, I 'd prefer Angela or Angelica.

Less tacky than Princess, but just by a whisker. I don't like the sound of it either, too spongy. But I do like Ángel for a boy

I think it's always going to be over-ambitious.

I think it's the prettiest of the Ang- names because of how the 'ay' is pronounced. That being said, it's way too tied up with an overly complimentary term for many people in English languages and that would bother me way too much if it were my own name and rules it out for giving it to a kid. I prefer Angel for a boy pronounced the Spanish way.

It's okay as a Spanish name for a boy. I find it incredibly tacky on a girl in English.

I also used to think it tacky until I knew one. It's really darling on her too. Her full name is Angelica. I think Angel kind of ruins the awesomeness of Angelica... but Angel is still sweet on her.
I much (MUCH) prefer Angela though.

I prefer it as a masculine name. I like Angela and Angie for girls, so I agree Angel has a nice sound, but it does a seem a bit tacky (as most religious word names seem to me).

I only like it on a boy & with the Spanish pronunciation! I agree with your initial vibe of the name, I always saw it as being tacky.
