Khoudia
Recently discovered Senegalese model Khoudia Diop. I believe it's pronounced like "Cody" with an a on the end and find it very pleasing. First I'm wondering if anyone has info on this names origin or if there's any history to it. And second just your opinions on the name in general.

Never seen or heard it, but it reminds me of Kholoud. Someone I 'know' had a daughter named this and they're from Syria if I'm remembering correctly.

I have never heard of it. I first thought it was a misspelled Claudia. When I realized it wasn't I thought it was COW-dee-ah, with the first syllable sounding like 'cow' which isn't so attractive. It will never get spelled or pronounced correctly. Cody-ah sounds like you tried really hard to feminize the name Cody. Sorry, but I don't really care for it :(

The Kh-sound in Arabic is more of a guttural sound like -ch in Bach or loch. Ou should be pronounced like -oo so Khoudia is not really Cody with an a. It's not my style, the Kh- sound is just too harsh for my liking. But I don't really dislike it. I'm kind of neutral.
ETA: I just saw a short video on YouTube with Khoudia and she was introduced as Koo-dee-a.
