WDYTO Norry
My wife and I have been throwing around baby names and are drawing inspiration from family names. Her great-grandfather and his father before him were both named Norry. Not short for anything that we can decipher. Birth records say "Norry" (and I had thought it might be short for Norbert, thank goodness it wasn't =P).
I am kind of liking it, but would love to hear some opinions.
I wasn't able to find a meaning on the site but a Google search yielded that it might have arisen as a nickname for Honor / Honorius.
WDYT of using Norry as a boys name? Would it grow well?

I think it would not grow well. There are some men who in middle age could carry the full name Norry very well, today, but I think they are a minority. To me it seems too cute and quaintly antiquated. It's similar to Teddy or Marty as a full name. So I think you should name him Norris, Norman, Norbert, Honor (ius), Norton, Norwood, or even Conor if you want to call him Norry.

Are you thinking of it for a boy or a girl? I assumed it was a girl's name when I saw your heading and was surprised to see that it was the name of male ancestors. I then assumed you were considering it for a boy, but then saw that you actually don't specify that in your post.
I think it's cute for a girl, but wouldn't like it for a boy.

Sorry for not specifying. Yes, we're searching for a boys name. We seem to agree on all the girls names.
