eye-ZIGH-uh, the middle part rhyming with sky. It was very rare here until recently & I've only ever come across it in Biblical references, not on any actual people. Apparently Canada pronounces it the same as we do: https://forvo.com/word/isaiah/#en

There's an old movie of some Damon Runyon stories called Guys And Dolls, starring a young and dishy Marlon Brando, Frank Sinatra and others. Brando plays the hero, a gambling man known as Sky because when he's betting, he goes right up to the sky ... not a bad film at all, but the stories are better. However, I first heard the US version of Isaiah there, when Sky is arguing a biblical reference with, I think, his love interest. Blew my little South African socks off, too.

I'd probably like it, the film that is. I quite like the US pronunciation, too, although not sure phonetically how it happened!

Interesting! It's a bit hard for me to say, but attractive. It's pretty popular where I grew up... near Amish country ;)
