Astral and Petal
These 2 were just barely edged out of my top ten this month. I know they're out there but I'm taking a much more "gut reaction" and ephemeral approach to names lately so bare with me.
Do you like either / can you see either working IRL? What gender would you assume each was?

I would assume bother were girls.
Not crazy about Astral, though I could see it working. I love starry names.
Petal is cool. I actually like it. I totally imagine a youngest sister named Petal. I definitely have used it in stories.
Take my opinions with a grain of salt on nature and word names. I love Begonia and Sonnet and Meadow too.

Astral is just silly and Petal is far too cutesy for my taste. I don't like either and don't think either would work.
I like Petal in a GP-ish way, Astral just feels dumb.
I would assume both of them were feminine.
Petal - I don't dislike it, but it feels too cutesy to be a given name to me. I think it would be a very sweet nickname. I guess it wouldn't be terrible as a full name, I just imagine if it were my name and I think it would annoy me that it was so cartoony-feminine sounding.
Astral - It's not a word, right? But somehow it feels like an adjective. "Oh, how very astral of you". I don't know. Am I just thinking of astrological? Anyway, I can't get past that it sounds like it is describing something. So I'm out for this one.

It's a real word describing something star-like. "Astral plane" and whatnot.
Jamie Oliver has a daughter named Petal. I would assume female for both. Petal due to the aforementioned celebrity daughter and because flower names tend to be given to girls, and Astral because it reminds me of Astrid and Kestrel.
Astral would fit in a a sibling to Frank Zappa's kids. Dweezil, Moon Unit, Diva, Ahmet, Astral.
I could see them working in real life. Petal could be seen as kind of precious/twee/infantile and Astral could be seen as kind of gonzo/hippie-ish/space-y/eccentric, but I think both could be pulled off by the right person.
