I like the spelling Eleanor, no fuss :) Elinor looks weird to me and Eleanore is a bit much.Any of the variants ending in -a are pretty but not a favourite.Favourite nickname is Ellie but very close are Nell and Nora

I like Elinor and Eleanor and pretty much all versions of it.
If I have to pick one version: Eilidh
If I have to pick one nn: Nenna, which is what my eldest niece used to call her sister when they were little. (She's usually Els now, or the full name.)

It used to be Elinor. Now I am tending towards Eleanor, but I like them both a lot. I dislike all nicknames for it. Ellie isn't very interesting with it being in the top 100 by itself and all the girls named Ella around. Nell or Nellie are names I never cared about at all. Nora is a fully established name and I would feel weird calling an Eleanor Nora or even Ella. I would stick with the full name. I also like Elaine a lot and Elena but only pronounced eh-LEH-na with long EH sounds.

Elanor, ElinorElin, or more likely Ellie.

I used to prefer Elinor, which is the spelling Jane Austen used for "Sense & Sensibility"; but now I lean toward Eleanor, which is far more common (though still far from trendy). If I were to use a nickname at all, I kind of like Nell (though I actually prefer that as a nickname for Penelope).I used to really like Lenora, as well, though I'm not as keen on that now.

Eleanora & Eleonora definitely. Elle, Ella, & Nora are my favorite nicknames. Cannot stand Ellie.

I used to like it better spelled Elinor, but now I prefer the original Eleanor. My favorite nicknames are Ella, Ellie, and Nora.

I like both Eleanor and Elinor; I'd probably go for Eleanor, otherwise she's likely to spend her life explaining.I've known several Eleanor people, and not one of them used a nn. I find Ellie pretty juvenile; Nora(h) seems like an independent name rather than a nn; and I'm in two minds about Nell and Nellie - I think I prefer Nell, but I don't really like either.

My favourite version of Eleanor is Leonora I think it is a beautiful name and I prefer how it sounds to Eleanor. I like Eleonora and Elinor as well.
My favourite nickname is definitely Nora or Norah I really like how it sounds. I don't mind Ellie it is sweet nickname but I know a few people called Ellie, so wouldn't want to call the child the same name as them. Elea is quite nice as well and is something different to Ellie. I don't know if Lea and Lena could be used as nickname for Leonora but I quite like them. Please Vote PNL: http://www.behindthename.com/pnl/151224

I love Elinor, as well as Eleanor. Elle, Ellie, Ella, Nell and Nellie are all lovely, and different nicknames suit different girls and women, so I don't really have a favourite. I also love Ellen, Helen and Helena, and the same nicknames apply.

I like it as Eleanor, and nicknames probably Nora, Ora (Aura) or Anna/Annie.

I like Elinor, it's the name of a character in Sense and Sensibility and a bunch of characters in A Song of Ice and Fire. I also just like the way it likes. I like Nora, but its becoming super trendy in my area. Ellie is cute for a little girl, but not for an adult, my program leader this summer is an adult woman named Ellie and it feels awkward calling her something I associate with toddlers.
