Dodie
What do you think of the name Dodie?
I've been watching a youtuber lately called Dodie Clark who seems to love her name. I didn't like it, but after watching her videos, and seeing how perfectly it fit her personality, I think it's growing on me. But I don't know how usable it would be on someone that isn't as quirky as a full-time YouTube musician.
I also recommend checking out her channel: doddleoddle~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~

ILOVEDODIECLARKDodie is amazing and I didn't even know that Dodie was a nickname for Dorothy until I started watching her.

I don't think it could stand up as a name on its own, but as a nickname it's all right. I don't know who Dodie Clark is, but Dodie Smith who wrote I Capture the Castle and the dalmatian books is a great namesake

I don't like it; it sounds like it would be the name of a doofus of some kind. That, and it also makes me think of the dodo (the extinct bird) and of Dodi Al-Fayed (the boyfriend of Princess Diana at the time of their death).

I love it as a nickname for Dorothy, Dorothea, Theodosia, etc.

I don't like it.As a child my dummy (pacifier) as named Mr Dodie (Dodi?) and I have no idea why. Some weird thing either my parents or grandparents came up with!

Oh ugh. It's so unattractive. It always makes me think of the little girl on "My Three Sons", who looked like she had Down's Syndrome but didn't. I concede you have to be pretty old to think of that, as well as of Dodie Goodman. But those are the only two times I've seen the name used, so it's what I think of.I believe Dodie started out as a nickname for Dorothy, and I think it should stay that way. At least there'd be something to fall back on if she hates Dodie as an adult.

It sounds childish. I've never heard this as a nickname for Dorothy. I much prefer Dorie or Dottie.
