Theta
I already like Theda (THAY-duh, unvoiced th). Do you think the Greek character theta could be a name on its own? I like the sound of it, and I have heard much worse. I find it exotic. It could maybe suggest the Greek system fraternities a little much, but I like it at this moment. It's very deep red.

I think I like Theda better.I've heard about fraternities and the stuff I heard about them was mostly negative. I'm kinda glad they don't have fraternities in Brazil.

Sure. It sounds a little like a sci-fi character to me, but it's at least as usable as Delta, which I've heard IRL.

Something to do with Scientology... IIRC. Operating Thetans, lol. It's too much a letter. And the symbol for an angle. Theta brain waves, that too.Theda is nice, though.
I do say it THEE-da, not THAY-da, because I think of it as a contraction of Theodora and I say that with a long ee.

On Doctor Who, Theta Sigma was The Doctor's nickname on Gallifrey, and I called him Theta in the daydreams I used make up about him, so I can see it working (or at least I'm use to saying it in my head haha). Anyway, I think it's okay, although I can only imagine it on a boy at this point, especially being so close to Peter (someone else I daydream about).I really like Theda! New one for me.

What a coincidence, I saw this name for the first time just a few days ago and thought about asking about it at BtN!
To be honest, I think it sounds a bit too technical. Like something from aritmethics and not like a real name. But it's interesting.

One technical use I have heard for theta is "theta brainwave" which is produced during successful meditation sessions; sort of like being between awake and dreaming is when one is in a "theta state."

I studied Ancient Greek extensively in college, so Theta is nothing more than an alphabetic letter/symbol to me.
