Re: Jeremiah nickname
I don't think Jamie works as a nickname for Jeremiah. It's too much of a stretch. I don't like Jamie on a grown man anyway. It's cute for a little boy, but too soft and too gone-over-to-the-girls for a man. My husband's middle name was James and his parents called him Jamie. Once he reached adolescence, he didn't want to be called Jamie any longer, so he began to call himself Jim. Since the full name was James, he had another nickname ready at hand to go by. A Jeremiah nn Jamie wouldn't have that.I love Jeremiah, but this has made me realize I'd probably never use it because it's cumbersome to say in full on a daily basis, yet the only nickname I can think of is Jerry, which I don't like at all.
