I like it, though they still feel a bit dated.
I would think Marlene is more modern looking, but I am a terrible judge at that. Marleen is a little too "country" a spelling for me.
As an alternative, I am a huge fan of Maureen / Morene . They are also dated, but a bit more-so, so they could be arguably vintage.
