WDYTO Callie?

I like Callie a lot! It's better as a nickname for the names other users have already mentioned but it's alright as a full name too. It's not overly childish or unprofessional sounding like a lot of diminutives. I can respect Kali as a goddess name but that's pronounced differently used by non-Hindu parents it would just come off as trendy and incomplete.
It's pretty cute and I think it can stand alone.
Kali, on the other hand, is a death goddess with a necklace of skulls, a skirt of arms and her tongue hanging out of her mouth, plus, she was worshiped by the Thuggee cult who strangled people.

Callie definitely comes across as a diminutive. I don't think it stands alone.
Cally/ie is sometimes short for Caroline, so I guess would work for Carolyn as well
Or
Calanthe
Calliope
Callista
Callisto
Calypso
Cara
Carla
Carlotta
I think for a non Hindu to use Kali, it should definitely me a nickname or shortening of something else.

I know a Carolyn whose nn is Cal; when she was tiny she called herself Calloryn, which her family found delightful and the nn has stuck into adulthood.
I don't think Callie ever featured, but it could have, and I can't imagine it as anything other than a nn. There's nothing wrong with that, but it does need something more substantial in reserve.
Kali, the goddess of destruction? Or there's a link to Linux apparently, but I don't know from Linux myself. Either way, it's a definite No.

I love it but only as a nickname. My go-to full name for it is Calanthia, but other names that start with CAL would work.
