Clea
What do you think of Clea? I sort of like Cleo but my boyfriend thinks it's too Cleopatra and he doesn't like Clara but I think Clea is a nice blend. Not too out there and not too conventional. What are your opinions on Clea?
Could you rank and comment on Cleo, Clea, Clara? Do you get very different impressions from them?

I know a very nice Cleone, if that helps.
Cleo is more Laine than Antony in today's world. I think it would pass unnoticed, but I don't like it much at all. I do like Clara, however, and Clare.
A friend of mine has two daughters, Lucy and Clea. Clea was named after the Lawrence Durrell Alexandria Quartet books, and compared to just about all the other characters, she's sane, normal, pleasant and clearly in the wrong book! (They put me right off Justine for years.) Anyway, the family are now saying that she needn't have bothered giving her daughter an arcane literary reference for a name, because nobody else has heard of it and the kid gets routinely called Clare. I find this rather bleak and very unconvincing, and I hope that it wouldn't happen in Europe! South Africa can be rather Philistine at times.

Clea would always get mistaken for Cleo. Other than that, it's not a bad name.

I prefer Cleo.
I really don't like Clea. No offense, but when I hear it it makes me think of venereal disease. I can totally imagine someone saying "I thought he loved me, but then he gave me Clea!" Blame my gutter mind.
If Cleo is too Cleopatra, what about Clio? I think the muse of history and poetry makes a good namesake. I can imagine it suiting a clever and spirited girl.
Clara is pretty, but unremarkable. It doesn't stand out for me at all, yet I don't see any problems with it.

Nev Schulman and his wife Laura Perlongo just had a daughter named Cleo. I think it's super cute and sweet! Clea seems really modern and potentially trendy, I'm not a fan. Clara has kind of a vintage-chic vibe to it. Cleo is my favorite.
