I'd "like to like it" but cannot say I do.

Barbara itself, I don't like, ba ba ba.Babs-just baby talk. so, no.

I intensely dislike Barbara, and Babs is simply atrocious. If it must be used, I think Barbara by itself is better than any of its nicknames.

Well, it's better than Barbie.

I don't care for it. It makes me think of Babs Bunny from Tiny Toon Adventures. At least it's not Barbie, though.

Yes, very much. At one stage, at my girls-only school, there were I think five Barbara people, a Deborah and a Desiree in a class of 30. The teachers fell apart: "Barbara, stop talking.' 'I wasn't talking.' 'Not you, the Barbara behind you.' 'But I'm Deborah.' You can imagine. The years above and below us didn't contain a single one, so all those parents must have been a very ... interesting bunch.

Nicknames were very necessary. There was one who was always just Barbara, a Barbie, a Bibi and a Babs, and the other one was Rendie because of her ln. Barbara seemed fine but long, Barbie was and is ghastly, Bibi was quite bright and perky but didn't age well, and Babs seemed perfect.

I dreadfully hate the name Barbara and the nick names of it aren't any better. Barb\barbs, barbie: ick. Babs is no exception. In fact I think it may sound\look worse.

Nah, to me it sounds like a joke name, like something you'd use occasionally for fun. Babs Bunny from some Looney Toons spinoff show is really my only association.
