I halfway don't like it and halfway do. It does make me think of a somber dour-faced mortician dressed in black, I guess because of the "mord" part. It's reminiscent of "mortician" and "morbid". On the other hand, I think it's kind of cool. I don't think "hipster", I think "eighteenth and nineteenth century". I think about how Abraham Lincoln had an uncle named Mordecai. Apparently he was a wit and raconteur. When his father Abraham Lincoln, the famous Lincoln's grandfather, was killed by a Native American, it was Mordecai who ran back to the cabin, grabbed a gun, and killed the Native American. So the name is like, eighteenth-century bad-ass to me.
