Thoughts on Robin

I love Robin for a boy. I think it would be a solid choice.
I like Robin! It's only used on males where I live and I don't like it at all for a female.
I think it would be shortened by some people, but they could be corrected.
I like Robin for a boy. I pretty much hate it for a girl.

I really like Robin for a boy and actually much prefer on a boy than a girl. Rob or Robbie or Robbo would be inevitable here in Australia, everything pretty much gets shortened! I'd kind of prefer it as a middle name, because of that. You could just be really adamant that his name is Robin and that's what he is to be called though.
I used to love Robin for a boy until I met a little girl called Robin whose Mum called her Birdie/Bird as a pet form. I just thought that was so cute and it completely switched the name to the other gender for me.
However, I think it's a short enough name that I don't think it would automatically be shortened.

I'm usually in the minority, but I don't like Robin for a boy. I find it not strong and masculine enough, though I dislike it on a girl, also. I always wonder if (an American at least) male Robin will encounter difficulty because of having, and resent having, a "girl's name". I've never known a male Robin.
I don't think it would be automatically shortened unless it were by Robin himself who would prefer the more masculine Rob.

I don't think it would be shortened and I really like Robin, especially for a boy. It's a sweet name that works on any age, but isn't overly harsh or masculine sounding.
I like Robin. It's soft and sweet and I like names like that.
I kind of hate Robert but I don't mind Rob or Robbie. I also quite like Robson.
Robin doesn't seem like a name that would automatically be shortened to Rob/Robbie. I've known a few Robins (all males) and none went by anything other than Robin.

I like it. Robin is one of those rare names I view as actually being unisex. If I were to use it I would use it for a boy and nn him "Robbie" or, Rob I guess. I don't mind those. Of course that is all hyperthetical since Robin is unusable for me.
I don't think it would automatically be shortened. I've known 2 Robins that I can recall (one male, one female) neither of them went by a nn. They were always just refered to as "Robin"

I really like Robin/Robyn for a girl, it's so bright and lively.
But on a boy it sounds pwecious and cutesy, and just ick.
