Olwen
What are your thoughts on Olwen ?~ Always end the name of your child with a vowel, so that when you yell the name will carry ~

I've loved it for a while. The symbolism in the meaning is beautiful!! I worry about its usability in the US, not because of any associations but just because it's so unfamiliar. I'm still a ways off from naming any children, though, so I'll cross that bridge when I come to it. Definitely more usable than some of my other faves.

Love it. There aren't many O names to love so it was great to add this one to my list. The folklore story with it adds to its luster.

I love it and would seriously consider using it myself.

I love it! I think it's mature but still sweet. It makes me think of a woman in a white dress walking along the sea, too, which is a pretty image. It was a family name on my Grandpa's side, though not my direct branch. Too bad because I'd snatch it right up to use. He had an aunt Grace Olwen, and as far as I know her family used it in younger generations.

It's one letter off of Owen, which I do like. But that makes me see Olwen as not only being a bit masculine, but also kind of like "old Owen," if that makes sense.I much prefer the similar Elowen.

It's alright. It has a nice history behind it, but I don't like how it's pronounced (OHL-wen).
