It sounds like it could be the name of a creature from the underworld in a science fiction book or film (think Gelfling from The Dark Crystal, for example). As such, I think that this name is best suited for the middle name spot.
I would prefer to see it on a boy, by the way - it doesn't look remotely feminine to me, despite the diminutive -ling suffix.
