I like Bridget a lot. And the three I've known well just never used a nn - OK, when one of them was a young teenager she was Bridgie, but it didn't last.
The only thing that puts me off is that two out of the three were actually Brigitte like Ms Bardot, but pronounced as if it was Bridget. I could never get my head round that.

I can't get the Bridget Jones association out of my head. I like the simplicity of Bridget but for that reason I might consider changing the spelling to Bridgette. There is nothing wrong with Bridget Jones, I like her, but the association is so so strong for me right now. Bridge and Bridgie but it works without a nickname too. It seems a bit dated.
I went through a phase a few years ago of really liking it. It's somehow mature and youthful at the same time. It's upbeat and very colorful. My favorite nickname for it is Bridie.
