Veronica is a good name too. where I live, it's Veronique, and the usual nick-name is Vero.

I much prefer Veronica, which is very familiar but a bit glamorous and exotic at the same time.
I'm not fond of Roni or Ronnie as nns or full names for girls. I'm not even fond of Ronnie for a boy; it has a tough, tacky, chain-smoking, dyed-red-hair vibe. I like Ron for a boy, it's friendly and laid-back.
The spelling Roni makes it seem possible that it's pronounced Roh-Nee, like macaroni or Rice-a-Roni.

Always makes me think of Macaroni...sorry. Even with an alternate spelling I don't find the sound attractive.

If you want Veronica you can use Vera as NN. it is more elegant than Roni.
