Catarina?

Catarina is very common here (although the spelling with a K is more common) and I think it's a nice, beautiful name.
I adore Catarina and all her spellings. I almost went with Katerina for my first dd. The name is musical, classic, elegant, and familiar without being too OTT or common.
You said that Catarina honors one side of the family tree. From what I can tell, both can be used with an Italian background although other backgrounds come into play, especially with Catarina. I am curious about your family tree. Care to share?

It's pretty. I personally would use Katherine rather than Catarina (I prefer the K spelling for Katherine.) Catarina would feel forced and artificial for me personally, but objectively I like Catarina as much as I do Katherine.

The name is very pretty, kind of exotic but not at all hard to say, and definitely more interesting than Katherine et al.
I do prefer Katarina but the c/k question or the e/a question is not that big a deal to me.
