Catarina?
What are your thoughts on Catarina? Caterina Is also pretty, but Catarina would honour one side of her heritage.
I don't like Katarina, as I'm not a fan of K names for girls. Thanks.

Catarina is very common here (although the spelling with a K is more common) and I think it's a nice, beautiful name.

I adore Catarina and all her spellings. I almost went with Katerina for my first dd. The name is musical, classic, elegant, and familiar without being too OTT or common. You said that Catarina honors one side of the family tree. From what I can tell, both can be used with an Italian background although other backgrounds come into play, especially with Catarina. I am curious about your family tree. Care to share?

Sure, our kids are a mix of Portuguese and Chilean heritage. I like to use names that honour them in some way. Catarina would honour the Portuguese side. I also like Catalina. :)

I wondered about the Portuguese side of it!

Katarina is on our short list for a girl. I prefer the K spelling because it's original to the German language.Catarina is a sweet name.

It's pretty. I personally would use Katherine rather than Catarina (I prefer the K spelling for Katherine.) Catarina would feel forced and artificial for me personally, but objectively I like Catarina as much as I do Katherine.______________________________________________________________________________________________

The name is very pretty, kind of exotic but not at all hard to say, and definitely more interesting than Katherine et al.
I do prefer Katarina but the c/k question or the e/a question is not that big a deal to me.

I like Catarina. My only concern would be that she might often have her name mispelled as Caterina, which (to me at least) would be the more intuitive spelling if I had just heard her name.

Inconveniently long. Try Catrina.

Not a Fan of Catrina. Doesn't fit in with my kids names either. Thank you for the suggestion though.
