It's certainly better than Euphrates! But neither of them sounds remotely human. My French friend had a stripey cat named Tigris once; say it in a strong French accent with a silent -s, and it's quite nice. So was the cat.

There's always Tigridia, I suppose, if you could warm up to a flower name instead of a river. But I wouldn't use it.
