Sarah...
I mentioned that Catherine has been back on my radar as a middle name, and my fiance paired it with his favorite, Sarah.
So what do you think of Sarah Catherine? Classic and sweet? Or boring and lackluster?
Other ideas for a middle to spice up Sarah? I like Sarah Winifred (although I prefer Winifred Sarah, but that's not going to happen).
We're open to two middle names, as well!

Current favorites:
Ephraim / Tristram / Benedict / Hamish
Cordelia / Winifred / Edith / Margaret

I love using Sarah as a MN, it is so unexpected there:
Helen Sarah
Elizabeth Sarah
Bryony Sarah
Robin Sarah
Willow Sarah
Felicity Sarah
Victoria Sarah
Tamsin Sarah
Verity Sarah
etc etc
Try putting it in the MN spot, I'm always surprised more people don't use it there.
Sarah Catherine is sweet, and you could occassionally call her S.C. 'Essie'? Call it 'boring' if you like, but I find it a lot less boring than the hundreds of Emily Grace, Emma Rose, Olivia Grace, Lily Grace's she'll encounter.
Other combinations with Sarah in front:
Sarah Zoe
Sarah Lark
Sarah Iris
Sarah Guinevere
Sarah Cordelia
Sarah Dell
Sarah Adele
Sarah Winona
Sarah Clarisse
Sarah Evangeline
Sarah Angelica
Sarah Miranda
Sarah Yvaine
Sarah Melaine

I actually like Sarah pretty well as a middle. It's just it's my fiance's favorite name for a girl, and he already agreed to my pick if we ever have a girl, but he'd want Sarah for a first if we ever have a second girl. I'm not keen on it as a first, myself, and I think it's extra plain next to the first pick, Cordelia.
Sarah Catherine is really gorgeous.
Classic, not sweet. Not shiny or sparkly, but not lacking in luster either.
"Boring" ... if you're sensitive to feeling "bored" by names that are basically permanent fixtures of English speaking culture. But if you like Sarah and Catherine enough to consider using them at all, you probably aren't!
I find Sarah Winifred more "boring" than Sarah Catherine. At least Sarah Catherine is unashamed of being a current-classic. Sarah Winifred sounds like it would fit into a 19th century melodrama or something. But it's a good name, IMO. Either name is good.
If I were naming a daughter Sarah, I'd drop the H and give her a non-classicky middle. To lighten it up. But that's just me.
Sara Jasmine
Sara Marjorie
Sara Calista

Sarah is bland and boring and colorless. Katherine is bland and boring and almost colorless. Mix them together and you get ...
Not much of nothing. Blah. Plain oatmeal with no flavoring and made with skim milk. Even the bowl it's served in is just a plain bowl the same color as the oatmeal.

I've known so many women named Sarah (and one Sara) that it has become so boring to me. In our friend group, we could never say just "Sarah", it had to always be "Sarah Lastname", so we would know which one we were talking about. And in one case, it was always "Sarah from Pratt". I wouldn't say Sarah Catherine isn't classic and sweet, but it's also boring. I definitely think that if Sarah is going to be used, which I advise against, a far more unusual middle name than Catherine be paired with it. It's not that Sarah isn't a pretty name, just so overused.
