Genevieve is on our list should we have another daughter. We, too, are concerned that it would be shortened to Jen / Gen or Jennie. It is also gaining in popularity quickly. If you don't like the nickname Jen / Gen I wouldn't use it. My husband's family doesn't like nicknames, yet gave all their kids loooong names. Each of my husband's siblings is constantly explaining that they do not use a nickname. They actually get angry when someone uses a nickname (Chris Liz / Alex)
