I'm very fond of Nat and Kit. In fact, Nathaniel is a name we may use someday, and we'd have Nate and/or Nat as a nickname. Kip is cute too.
Mac(k) is okay for a male Mackenzie, but as a random nn, like Buddy, I don't like it at all.
Chip I can kind of see working, although I automatically think of My Three Sons. I doubt most would have that association at this point, especially not peer aged kids.
Skip, Rock (or Rocky), and Jock are ridiculous. I just don't care for Mick.
