Agnes
I have fallen in love with the name Agnes. I even love it with the English pronunciation, not just the French one. Opinions?

I've loved Agnes (English pronunciation) ever since I was little. It never seemed ugly to me until I heard other people saying it was ugly. Now I realize how it could have that ugly-cute sound, like Gretchen and Eugene (both of which I adore). I still really love Agnes, and I'd probably consider using it if it was honoring or something.

I feel a loyalty to it because it was my paternal grandmother's name. And although I was not close to her, and didn't even really like her, I have a strong sense of her as my grandmother, therefore it would not have been unthinkable for me to use it as an honoring middle name.I think it less ugly than I used to, but I still think it's ugly, the English pronunciation anyway. My grandmother was almost named Bridget.

Love Agnes, one of my favourite old fashioned names

It's beautiful in spite of sounding kind of ugly, if that makes any sense.

I really like Agnes. It's one of my favorite names (top 10). However I live in Sweden where Agnes is more popular among kids, but also pronounced differently. I think it sounds a bit harsh in English.

Yes I think it's quite lovely too. Underrated at the moment, but has the potential to make a comeback.

I love it! My fondness for Inez is even stronger.
