Thora

I knew a dog called Thora once. Very pretty critter - German Shepherd. Her owners pronounced it Tora, which puzzled me since they were Jews and you'd think that a word sounding a bit like Torah might be inappropriate.
I wouldn't connect it with Thor and Marvel, but others might. I quite like it, though not enough to use myself.

I love it! I think the doughy "th," which is one of my favorite onomastic sounds, will hinder its popularity, and for that I'm glad.
I have always liked Thora. I first heard it on Thora Birch and thought her name was just so cool.
I honestly rarely remember that it is Thor with an -a. With the currently popularity of Marvel's Thor, I am sure more people will see the connection than I do.
Note only do I think it is usable, but I think it is simple, sweet and refreshing for a kid today.
