This was my grandma's real name (she always went by a nickname). I might use it as a middle name to honor her.

Ruth is supersweet! I love it. I don't like the sound in Norwegian tho, so I couldn't used it on my own child. But if my family were English-speaking I would definitly thought of Ruth as a potential name for my future daughter. The sound is just so sweet and smooth and calm. In a combo I think it fit best as a middlename.Ava Ruth Cordelia
Ivy Ruth Cornelia

I love this name, always have. The Biblical story of Ruth was always a fave of mine when growing up and I used some passages from Ruth in my wedding vows. I do prefer it as a mn though. I think it pairs nicely with lots of names, just depends on your style and what you're after.

I have a cousin called Ruth Elizabeth. She's about 8 years old. All the other Ruth's I know are either middle aged and older. Before my cousin was born, Ruth was always and "older" person name to me.Ruth Monika

I don't care for Ruth at all. (I rather like Truth as a mn. Bit of a guilty pleasure there) I can't think of anything that would go with it that would make it any better.I had a Great Aunt Ruth who, typically for that part of my family, was never known by her actual name and always called Billy.

Ruth is stoic, serious. I think of a woman weathered with age, white hair, wrinkled skin. Not mean, but not fun, just quietly herself. I would pair her with an M name. I don't know why. It must be my synesthesia. Ruth Magdalene
Ruth Marilla
