I don't mind it. I feel like it is pretty and simple and a bit different than the norms, but still easy to read and say. I've never thought of it before. Close friends considered Alena for their daugter, but wanted it pronounced ah-LENN-ah. After enough people told them they would have thought it was pronounced ah-LAY-nah, they changed their minds.
