Norie
I was randomly browsing name forums when I came across Norie as a variant of one of my top favorites, Nora. Apparently it's gender neutral, though I can only see it on a girl. I must say I haven't seen a name so awesome to me in ages. I find it dreamy, tender and down-to-earth.
What do you think?
And, have you ever had a similar experience with a name?~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~
Check my PNL, yo!

I guess it would be a sweet nickname for Nora (which is a sweet name) but not as a full name

It's a cute nickname for a girl. I mostly associate it with Nori, one of the dwarves from The Hobbit, though.

I like Nora a lot, but the fact that I cannot shake the sound association between Nora and "snore" prevents me from sincerely loving the name. But I might come around.Norie...well. Not so much as a full name. A nickname, okay. I think I'd spell Norah with an 'h'. It looks younger.

Norie on the site is listed as Japanese.

I always thought Norie was Japanese. It's related to Nori - it's not the same as the English name Norie. (It's pronounced with three syllables in Japanese.)I don't really like the English name Norie (which I've seen more often spelled Norrie). It sounds like a nickname. I guess it could work for something longer like Noreen, Honora, or Lenora (considering Nora is technically a short form of names ending in -nora).

I like it only as a nickname to a name such as NoraIf I ever were to have a daughter and decided to name her Nora, I would call her "Norie" as a nickname (:Norie
Nori
Nory

To be honest I first think of Kanye West and his daughter with a Kardashian who is named North nn Nori. I'm not into celebrity news at all but I still know this so I think many people will associate Nori or Norie with their daughter. It is a very cute name that might work better as a nickname than a full name. I like Nora and especially Eleonora nn Nori. Noreen would be another possibility. Or even Eleanor which is lovely.

It's cute. I like it. Like you, I can only see it on a girl.

As somebody who thinks Nora is homely and dowdy, I find Norie homely, dowdy and babyish. Like Mikey or Becca or Timmy or Missy; a childish nickname that never grows up.
