I can't forget the time that I mention the name Honor to my husband and he rolled his eyes and said, "Honor and off her." Totally ruined it for me.

I wouldn't think it would need a nickname. It's no harder or more laborious to say Honor than it is to say AHN-ee, so why bother?

I knew a girl called Honor. It's a lovely name and really suited her. It doesn't seem like the kind of name that needs shortening.

I like it. It's different without being to wacky (or tacky) and I like the overall vibe it gives if that makes sense. I don't think it needs a nickname and Ahn-ee, however spelled, would sound silly and go completely against the feel of the name, in my opinion. Also it seems non-intuitive.

The first thing I'd associate honor with is honor killings, so I don't love the idea of it as a name.

If used for a girl, I prefer Honora or Honoria. If used for a boy, some people might hear it as Connor.

How does AHN-ee come from Honor/Honour? I've never heard honor pronounced with anything other than a short O sound or an AW sound, never an AH sound.

I'm Canadian, so "honour" is the correct spelling of the word for me, but as a name I prefer Honor.

Hmmm this is difficult. I sort of like it. It has a nice sound and the meaning is nice. But it is also kind of weird. As in 'it is such an honor to have you here', as if you were in awe of your own child and would look up to her or something. I can't really explain it very well. I think most parents of a girl named Honour don't intend this, but it is the first thing I think of.

Depending on which surname you have the combo with Honour/Honor can sound hilarious so it certainly doesn't work with any surname.

As for the nickname, I guess I would just spell it Onnie. If you would spell it Honi or Honie people would think it's Honey.

Oh and if you like Honour, you might also like Annora. It has really grown on me.
