They're not awful, but they feel frilly and heavy. I also used to have an annoying student whose English name was Magnolia, and it kind of spoiled the name for me (not that I was crazy about it before or anything).
I like both names there very pretty, but together it is a bit to sweet. I like Nola as either a nn or a name on it's own it works very well, however I am not a fan of Goldie I prefer Margo or Mari instead.

In theory I think it's a cute sibset, but for real girls...sorry, but I find it a bit too sugar-sweet.
It's awful, like two spoiled elderly southern belles drinking sweet tea brought to them by their faithful black maid, gossiping and scheming to sabotage the quilting bee or something.
Magnolia is comically Southern to me. Certainly, as someone who is not a Southerner despite 20 years in the South, I would never consider it. The nn Nola is not terrible but I'm not very fond of it either. Marigold is too simpering and Goldie is terrible. Together the full names match but are not too matchy. As far as matchiness goes, they are along the lines of my sisters' names, Patricia and Pamela. Like Baby Bear's bowl of porridge, chair, and bed, "Just right."
