I like it pretty equally for a boy or girl. This is one of those names I usually don't like, but I love this one!

I dislike Peyton for either gender, but if I had to pick, I'd definitely say it sounds better on a boy. If Lilah & Olivia had a sister named Peyton, I'd assume she was a boy at first (if you said, 'I have 3 kids named Lilah, Olivia & Peyton'). I dislike very differing name styles in a sibset, in this case two very feminine names and one unisex one.

Peyton Sebastian is a little too N heavy for me. I'd probably go with a one syllable, non-N-ending middle name. :b Peyton Cole or Peyton Rhys, maybe.

I definitely think of Peyton as a boy's name even though it's becoming popular for girls as well. I don't think that Peyton goes with Lilah and Olivia if you end up using it for a girl. Lilah and Olivia are very feminine and Peyton is boyish. Peyton will be the odd one out in the sibset. Lilah, Olivia, and Peyton would be a nice sibset as long as you use Peyton for a boy.

I'm really liking Peyton at the minute I prefer it on a girl though.

I love the name Peyton for a girl, I've meet both girls and boys with the name, but I don't like that spelling or the name for a boy, I prefer Paden for a boy if at all.

I see it as a girl's name and prefer it spelled with an 'a' rather than an 'e', but both of these are due to my cousin's 5 year old daughter. However, I actually like it on both genders equally.

It's not that I dislike it, but it has a very trendy faddish feel to it. It's a very 90s sounding name to me. I think it will date severely and be one of those old ugly names one day.

I have three cousins - two girls and a boy with that name. Well, one of the girls has the name Payton - the other two are variations of the name.

I find it extremely tired-sounding. There are too many Peytons in the world, as far as I'm concerned! Plus--and I won't be showing my age so much as my geekiness in admitting this--I immediately think of the original nighttime soap. (I blame this mostly on Jeanie C. Riley's song "Harper Valley PTA," which includes the line "Well, this is just a little Peyton Place and you're all Harper Valley hypocrites!")

Beyond that, the emphasis of "pay" in it means it sounds less like it should be paired with Sebastian and more like it should be paired with Cashley.

At first glance, I see Peyton as more of a girl's name, just because the only Peytons I know are girls. When I examine it closely though, the sound reminds me of Clayton or Brighton or something and therefore seems more masculine.

I strongly dislike the name. I think there was a soap opera by the name (Peyton Place?).
On the less serious side, it kind of reminds me of peyote.

I love the name Payton on a girl :-) I would use Olivia as her mn.
