Alice
Wdyt of the name Alice? To me it seems like a traditional, sophisticated name. I've never met anyone named Alice, though. Is it very popular elsewhere? What would you suggest for a mn for Alice? Thanks!

Unfortunately I still think of Alice from "The Brady Bunch", she is really the only Alice I've ever known!

I had an auntnamed Margaret Alice, went by Alice, who was a lovely, vivacious woman. She died young of breast cancer. My sister subsequently named her first daughter Katherine Alice (for our mother, her MIL, and our beloved late Aunt Alice). So I have lots of warm fuzzy feelings for this name. I might prefer the spelling Alais if I were intending for "sophisticated" to be the inference.

I adore this name! I think it is so classy, cute and beautiful. It is really uncommon in Australia, but I have a friend who is 13 named this and I always think of her when I hear it- she is classy, friendly, articulate, loving, unusual and slightly eccentric, creative and absolutley gorgeous.
Suggestions for a middle name:
Alice Charlotte

Alice Mabel
Alice Bethany
Alice Elisabeth
Alice Claire
Alice Clara
Alice Scarlett
Alice Helena
Alice Marcelline
Alice Claudine
Alice Marguerite
Alice Rosanna
Alice Georgina

I like the name Alice... its sounds innocent and refreshing even though it always reminds me of Alice and Wonderland and Go Ask Alice. I haven't heard it used at all (except for grandmotherly folk). My DD's fn is Adalis which is an early French form that eventually evolved to Alice. Unfortunately I am awful at coming up with mns, my dd's is Violet though. Don't know if that works well or not.~Melissa
