Best Friend BA
My best friend Kristin and her husband Jimmy (literally his legal name) had their second child together today! Jimmy is older than Kristin and has three boys from a previous marriage. Their last name is similar to Johnson and it starts with a J.
Jimmy's three older boys:
Blake Jay (19)
Grant Wesley (19)
Brett Michael (14)
Their little girl:
Jaslee Jae (almost 18 months)
and the new baby boy is...
Jhett Thomas
Jhett's middle name is honoring her grandpa who's name was Rollin Thomas P*****. Overall I am not a huge fan of Jett in general and I hate creative names but they are amazing people and this name suits them and just as with Jaslee I will grow to love it because of the little human it is attached to!
So be honest with me, how bad is it?
ETA: They live in the Midwest USA.

Honestly? Dreadful. But as you say, you'll end up loving it because you will love him and they're your friends. And he's always got Thomas to fall back on if he can't face going to school with such a silly name so it's not all bad. Besides, children need something to blame their parents for...
Hi !!!
Congratulation !!!!
Your friend is lucky!
...
I'm Italian so..well...I don't hear this kind of names except in books&movies.
Jimmy is nice as first name.
It is not my cup of tea but I was sure that it was more common as FN there in USA.
Among all these names.. I only like Blake.
Jhett seems a strange mix from Jett and Rhett.
I dislike it but Jet could be nice because of the colour (I love colour inspired&meaning names).
Other names seems too much Surnames except Michael and Thomas which I think elderly.
Why you wrote that they live in the Midwest? This kind of named are more common there?

Jaslee: I'm speechless. Sounds like they made it up after playing a round of scrabble
Jae: there's already a kid with the name (Jay) so he litterly just allowed the same name for 2 of his kids (Jay & Jae) must really like the sound
Jaslee Jae together: BARF! I can't see it ageing well at all. Sounds too cutesy, tacky and all around bad.
Jhett Thomas: Dislike Jhett but praise Jesus there's Thomas.
Blake Jay: Lovely names but they sound terrible together. Double "Ay" sound
Grant Wesley: Not much of an opinion on Grant and Wesley I personally hate but Grant Wesley sounds great and very realistic \douable
Brett Michael: like

My father-in-law's legal first name is Jimmy too.
His older boys' have decent names, except Brett Michael reminds me way too much of Bret Michaels, who is supremely obnoxious but thinks he is God's gift to women or something.
Jaslee I am not sure how to pronounce, and that is an automatic strike against it. Jazz Lee? Jayze Lee? Jasmine or even Jazlyn would have been nicer.
Jhett is stupid. Jett is bad enough, but Jhett looks like you are supposed to say it like zhet, like a phony French accent.

Jaslee is pronounced jazz-lee. Her grandmother is called Lee and they spelled it this way to honor her.
It's not that it's bad. It's just that it's assuming a lot, and it lets people assume a lot, which makes it seem more gimmicky than pleasant. But I don't think it's a total dog that he'll find is a big liability. He might end up changing the spelling to Jett. I don't mind Jett - I think it's better than Blake. The combo Blake Jay works though. Blake, Grant, and Brett seem like a very well matched set.
I think Brett & Jhett might be too close for brothers, at least if they live together.
The spelling Jhett confuses me and I have to wonder if it is pronounced Zhett, or Juh-Hett, or Jett. I guess I'd assume Jett.
Jaslee gives a similar impression to Jhett, but I personally find it more appealing. I think I'd like knowing a Jaslee. Though it's not exactly my style. I like it much better than Eisley, Kinsley, Ainsley, Jaylyn, or Jazlyn.

I haven't spoken to them but I would bet that it is just pronounced jet.
