Bettina
What do you think of the name Bettina?

Bettina is one of those nicknames that looks more like a full, legitimate name on its own (Lillian actually started out as a nickname for Elizabeth, but is used as a name by itself now). I don't think I'd ever use it, but it's all right. Personally I'd prefer a "Bette" nickname (pronounced like Midler, not Davis), but a real-life Bettina would probably end up going by Tina.

I agree. I think Bettina is better as a full name.

Hi !!Bettina?
Horrible !!!!I dislike all Bet- name or NN. But Bettina has a historyIt is the name of the old, unpleasant, spinster and sharp aunt in the book 'il giornalino di Gian Burrasca'.Byeeeeeeee

It's nice, but I prefer it as a nickname for Elizabeth.

I know Bettina is a nn for Elisabeth but for some reason, it seems more precious to me than most of them. Just not a fan for that reason alone.

I love it! It's sprightly, but it ages well.

It's okay; I would use nickname Betty for it.

I think it should only be used as a nickname for Elizabeth and even then it's a bit precious. In the "Betsy" books by Maud Hart Lovelace, the ones when Betsy is a teenager, not a child, some character calls Betsy Bettina rather than Betsy, but I can't remember who it was. Her friend-later-husband-Joe? Or was it Tacy?ETA: Pretty sure I remember. It was her sister Julia.

I don't like it. Not a fan of the nickname Betty, either.
