Well I clearly am a fan of Nadine!
We used it because it had a sophisticated vibe despite being an older name. Everyone recognizes the name but it was never overly popular.
Plus, it's a very wintry name. I like that cool classic feel.
So far, people love it. They do often seem surprised by it but we get better reception for Nadine than we ever did for Clarisse.
Sandra I actually like as well. It's funny, because I know several Sandys who are really Sandras but they hate their full name. I could never understand why.
The name is smooth and sweet sounding. We are past the Sandra Dee references by now, and Sandy is a nickname that fits the vintage trend like Milly or Addy.

Sandra is dated, and was never that pleasing in the first place. Nadine is better simply because it was never as popular as Sandra, and if it ever was popular, that happened before Sandra hit the charts. But I wouldn't expect to see either of them getting much use. Look at all the Alexandra people, and never a Sandra in sight - tells you something.
I think Nadine is really pretty. I've always liked it, even when I was little and it was just the girl from Free Willy 2. Because of her it reminds me of curly hair and soft voices, but it doesn't seem super girly.
Sandra is pretty, but seems a bit dated. I don't really like Sandy and it almost seems inevitable.
I knew a Sandrine in middle school and the subject line kept blending.

I really like both! They're stylish without being unpretentious.
If you mix them, you get Sardine.
Also, I don't quite like either.

I was wondering if someone would bring up Sandrine, but I didn't think many people would say sardine.
They're both a bit dated, but I kind of like Sandra.
Neither are my style. I don't have anything against them, but they don't ring my chimes.
Nadine is okay as a middle name, I think. Nay-DEEN.
Sandra is okay, but it is not as cute or lively as Sandy.
