Seamus
I have been really liking this one lately. I find it attractive on an adult and endearing on a child. I realize there are some attributes of the name that are a little odd, like the word shame (et al...), but I like it despite those things.
I feel like a Seamus would be a neat kid.
Thoughts? I have an Irish grandparent, so it would not be odd.
Do you like Seamus Isaac?

I am probably not the person to ask, but the only Seamuses I've ever met (2) have been Golden Retrievers. No joke.
So to me, it isn't just a dog name, but a Golden Retriever name.

I like it but it's too Irish for me, in the sense that I don't like how Americans say it. Shay-mus just isn't quite right - the same way Kayt-lin for Caitlin isn't right, only Shay-mus is much more subtly wrong.
But whatever, that's just something I'd think was important if I was doing the naming myself. People use Seamus in the US and we say it the way we do and life goes on, and it's not a bad name. Seamus Isaac is okay. nms.

I thought it was okay until you pointed out "shame" and now I don't like it at all. :(
I love it! I always think I just like it until I hear it in real life then I'm all like SWOON. I've heard it on a couple or little boys lately. I would probably consider using it if I identified at all with the Irish side of my background.
I don't think Isaac quite fits with Seamus. It's a bit too stiff and academic, while Seamus is more laid back and adventurous.
