There's a Norbert in my family. He's not super closely related but I know some family members would get a chuckle out of another younger Norb.

I like Morton more, though. I work with a Morton and it sounds normal and not exceptional in person. Mort or Morty are pretty dorky, IMO, but the full name sounds good (or at least good enough).

I would use Morton. Easily. It's not on my list or anything, but it's adorably dorky and I like it. Pluse Morty is sweet, I think. But it wouldn't need a nickname. Morton is great!

I don't like it, but I like the actor Norbert Leo Butz (Nobert Butz has gotta be the worst name ever) and the "Nor" sound, separate from the -bert appeals to me. I can't say "Morton" without a strong, faux-New York accent (think Fran Drescher on The Nanny). I just can't.

Norbert. I'd rather commemorate a Harry Potter dragon than the ln of my old Education professor; and he could quite comfortably be Bert, which I don't mind.
