A few BA sightings
On the radio earlier today, they were doing a segment where people phone in and say their good news. One lady phoned in and announced that she had given birth to a daughter and named her Ellie Harper because "it's so beautiful and unique."Also, an Israeli person I know just had twin daughters named Gaya and Ofek.

Ellie Harper is neither very beautiful, nor unique. It's OK, not ugly, but I don't like it.
Gaya is beautiful. Ofek...hmm, I think you can guess what I think it sounds like.

I wouldn't describe Ellie Harper as "beautiful and unique" but I like it; I love Ellie.Gaya is cute.

Ofek is horrible, I like Gaya.Nothing unique about Ellie Harper.

I'm not even gonna comment on Ofek, cuz I don't have anything nice to say about it lol but I LOVE Gaya!Ellie Harper isn't as unique as she thinks. Ellie has been popular here for DECADES, and isn't Harper within the top 100? It's still a pretty combo, though.

Ellie's in the top 50 (more if you consider the Ellas and Eleanors who go by Ellie) and Harper's top 10. I majorly eye-rolled when she said it's "unique". Regarding Ofek, this person lives in a Hebrew-speaking country so I assume it's an accepted name there (although BtN lists it as masculine, but BtN doesn't tend to have the best data on Hebrew names). I can't help but think that it sounds like an exclamation I might shout when I stub my toe, though.

A lot of the Israeli names listed on BtN as masculine are in fact treated as unisex in Israel (such as Ofek or Omer).
