I think many of these seem like casual nicknames, as in you would call them that on occasion while speaking but they'll never be introduced that way or write their name that way.
Mazzy, Saffy, Paulie, and Walt all could work as true nicknames though.
The other thing with nicknames to me is they make sense for longer first names or for very common first names. Uncommon and short names (like Rowan-on-a-girl or Efraim) don't lend themselves to nicknames, and using a syllable out of them sounds rather forced.
