What do you think of Jacqueline? Do you think it's dated? Would you be surprised to meet a baby named Jacqueline today?http://www.behindthename.com/pnl/87410

Certainly a pretty name. Where I live (French-speaking)it's dated, no little Jacquelines around. But it's a fine name.

My auntie's named Jacqueline so my only impression of that name is from her (and let me tell you, it's not the most flattering!)
She's in her 70's and snobby. I'm not much a fan of Jackie / Jacqui. But strangely I don't mind Jac - possibly because my association for a female Jac is a hard as nails, icy woman from a TV show I watch.I would be quite surprised to meet a baby Jacqueline today... But in a few years time, not so much! One to watch maybe?

I know a little Jacqueline who's about three now, so no, I wouldn't be all that surprised to see a baby Jacqueline. I think it's a nice name, and Jackie is rather cute as a nn.

I love Jacqueline personally, and I think I would be surprised and delighted to meet a baby Jacqueline. I think it is dated, but in the way that is attractive and ripe for revival rather than plain passé (like Melissa).I also really like Joceline, the French form of Jocelyn.

I never liked it much when it was new and shiny. Now it's so firmly linked to the 60s and blonde bimbettes that it seems wrong on any age other than 11-16 and any garment but a bouffant skirt or a modest mini. And then there's the pronunciation issue. Where I live, there's a major road in a nearby suburb called Jacqueline Drive, and it's known to one and all as Jack-wuh-leen. So, no.

I loved this name as a kid, but now I'm neutral towards it. I think it's too dated.

It's nms, but I don't think it's dated at all and I wouldn't be very surprised to meet one.

It's nice but dated. I would be surprised to meet a baby named Jacqueline. I don't like Jackie, though, and I feel it's hard to avoid.

I really hate Jacqueline with the English pronunciation. It's better in French, though I still don't like it.Jackie has never seemed attractive or cute for a girl the way Georgie, Stevie, and Frankie do. The full name has such a sharp angular feel to it. It just doesn't feel nice to me.I'd be happy to meet a baby Jacqueline today and not surprised. -Lyn names are quite popular and sound wise this fits in. I would be relieved to learn it was spelled properly. Jackalyn would be horrid, but I can see it happening.

It's a common name to me so I wouldn't be too surprised to see it on a baby. Though it would be somewhat unexpected since it's not used as much as it used to be.I was actually thinking of Jacqueline the other day - never thought much about it until then. My favorite spelling is Jacquelyn.

I like the name alright, and I think it is still usable! Jackie and Lynn would be go to nicknames and I won't mind the more "modern" spelling of Jacklyn either!
